Killing Frost

It crept silent in the night

Stealing summer’s last sap and spirit

Blossoms dimmed and scent deadened

Still beauty abounds in light tracking

Refracting through frozen crystalline form

(Above are my thoughts and captured images of this morning’s heavy frost in the yard. Though I am ready to settle into the slower and steadier pace this time of year brings I was sad to see the nasturtiums that have been so brightly blooming in the face of Fall now laying soft and wasted on the ground.
