Weekly Photo Challenge: In the Background

This year on Mother’s Day I found an escapee from the garden had sprouted down a roughly cleared cut-line where the power poles come in from the highway.

The “old-fashioned bleeding heart” (formerly Dicentra spectabilis, now classified as Lamprocapnos spectabilis) grows easily in our area – tended or not.

The hot pink blossoms danced in the wind that afternoon. This photo captures a glimpse of the lovely heart-shaped flowers swaying “in the background” of bright green foliage.
